CLIMATE


The southern part of the country has a Mediterranean climate (with mild, rainy winters) while the central and the northern regions have a moderate continental climate (with cold winters and hot summers).




Temperatures


The average monthly temperatures in winter: -10ºC in the mountains, 0ºC in Sarajevo, 5ºC in Mostar. The average monthly temperatures in summer: from 21ºC in Sarajevo to 25ºC in Mostar.


Precipitation

Annual total precipitation: 600–800 mm in the southern regions, 1500–2500 mm in the central and northern area.
