By air

Main international airports in Montenegro are: Podgorica (TGD) and Tivat (TIV).

The national carrier Montenegro Airlines offers flights from several European countries to Montenegro. Montenegro Airlines destinations include: Austria (Vienna), Denmark (Copenhagen), France (Paris), Germany (Frankfurt), Hungary (Budapest), Italy (Rome), Russia (Moscow), Serbia (Belgrade), Slovenia (Ljubljana), Switzerland (Zurich) and the United Kingdom (London).

The main border crossings of Montenegro are: Bozaj and Sukobin (Albanian border); Debeli Brijeg (Croatian border); and Sitnica, Vracenovici, Scepan Polje, Metaljka, Krstač and Vilusi (Bosnian border).



GETTING AROUND


By bus/tram

In Podgorica one can travel by buses. Tickets can be bought on board.


By taxi

Official taxis are marked and these are equipped with taximeters. Taxis can be found at taxi stands or ordered by phone.


By car

Driving is on the right side of the road. International and foreign driving licenses are accepted. Driver must also have insurance documents and car registration documents. Driver must not drive with a blood alcohol level of more than 0.05 percent. Driver and passengers must wear seat belts. Speed limits: built-up areas – 50 km/h, motorways – 100 km/h, open roads – 80 km/h. A warning triangle, first aid kit and spare bulbs are required. The use of dipped headlights is mandatory at all times. In winter snow chains are mandatory in some areas.
