Taxis are quite expensive. They are available at taxi rank or may be ordered by phone (Tel.: 970). Most of the meters start at 25 HRK for the first kilometer and then charge 10 HRK for each additional kilometer.
By car
Driving is on the right side of the road. International Driving Permit is recommended but foreign licenses are accepted. Driver must also have a valid passport (or ID card), Green Card, national identity sticker, first aid kit, roadside emergency marker, and spare tire and jack. Driver must not drive with a blood alcohol level of more than 0,05 per mill. Driver and passengers must wear seat belts (if available). Speed limits: built-up areas – 50 km/h, main highways – 80 km/h, express ways – 100 km/h, motorways – 130 km/h.
