Sightseeing
The capital of Belarus is a good start point of a sightseeing tour. The most popular museums in Minsk include: the National Museum of Belarusian History and Culture, the Museum of Old Belarusian Culture and the National Arts Museum. Other historical sites that are worth a visit are: the medieval Mir Castle (an UNESCO World Heritage Site), the medieval Lida Castle and the impressive Brest Fortress. For the enthusiasts of unspoiled nature, Belarus has a lot to offer. The most famous site is the Belaveskaya Pushcha National Park (also an UNESCO World Heritage Site) with wisents (European bisons) and the 500-year-old forest.

Hiking and walking can be a great way to explore Belarus and its unspoiled countryside.
Skiing
Belarus is definitely not a mountainous country but it has several locations good for skiing. Two most popular ski resorts in Belarus are Logoysk and Silichy, both near Minsk. In the Belarusian ski resorts one can practice not only downhill skiing but also cross-country skiing and snowboarding.
Water sports
The Belarusian lakes, rivers and canals create great opportunities for enthusiasts of water sports such as canoeing, kayaking and boating. The best destination for practicing water sports in Belarus is the Braslav Lake District.
Fishing
Fishing in the Belarusian lakes and rivers requires a fishing license. Fishing is possible all year round, with a spinner or a fishing rod, from the river bank or from the boat. In Belarus there is an abundance of various fish species: burbot, catfish, crucian, eel, pike, perch, roach, tench and many others.
Nightlife
The nightlife in Belarus is vibrant and diverse. In Minsk, for example, one can visit the opera, theater, circus or the famous puppet theater. But there is also a wide range of discos, pubs and clubs for party lovers.
